The Toyota Prius c continues to offer energy-conscious consumers a good bang for their e-buck. The 2019 Toyota Prius c arrives at dealerships with two trim options for consumers to configure. Not known for its record-setting acceleration, this fuel-sipper continues to be an exceptional choice for commuters or those looking to stretch their driving dollar.
What's New for 2019
The 2019 Toyota Prius c arrives at dealerships mainly unchanged for 2019. Toyota has simplified the selection process by downgrading their trim levels to two, the L and LE, from the previous One, Two, Three, and Four setup.
Choosing Your Toyota Prius c
While its hybrid powerplant is a technologically complex, the Prius c is one of the easiest vehicles to configure. Toyota offers the Prius c in two trims: the base L or upgraded LE. Power for each is derived from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline-powered engine combined with an electric motor. Together, this hybrid powerplant produces 99 horsepower that applies power to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission. According to EPA estimates, the Prius c returns a stellar 48 miles per gallon in the city, 43 mpg on the highway, and 46 combined.
There really isn’t much we can add here. If you’re in the market for an affordable daily-driver without a ton of flair, the 2019 Toyota Prius c is a great option. The extra $1,425 for the LE is money well spent.
