Volvo’s five-passenger crossover is already known for its safety, style and energetic road manners. For 2015, the engineers have focused on drawing more performance and efficiency out of the front-drive models.
What's New for 2015
The engine roster includes a pair of four-cylinder turbos known as Drive-E.
Choosing Your Volvo XC60
The Drive-E engines power all front-drive models. The base 2-liter turbo generates 240 horsepower and returns 29 mpg in combined city and highway driving. A supercharged version of the Drive-E is good for 302 horsepower and 25 mpg combined. Both engines receive a new eight-speed automatic transmission.
On the all-wheel drive XC60, you have a choice of a 240-horsepower 3.2-liter six-cylinder or a 3-liter turbocharged six-cylinder with 300 or 325 horsepower depending on the trim level. All six-cylinder engines are matched to six-speed automatic.
The deep model lineup is broken out according to drivetrain:
An array of option packages can customize an XC60:
- Premier Package: Adds leather seating, a panoramic sunroof, keyless access and ignition, rear privacy glass, configurable gauges and an auto-dimming mirror.
- Premier Plus Package: In addition to the above, you get a rearview camera, power-folding mirrors, a power liftgate, power-folding rear headrests, a folding front passenger seat, a cargo cover and a pop-up grocery holder.
- Platinum Package: Adds navigation, ambient interior lighting, a 12-speaker surround sound and auto-dimming side mirrors.
- Climate Package: Comes with a cabin air filtration system and heating for the front and rear seats, steering wheel, windshield and washer nozzles.
- Sport Package: Adds summer performance tires on 20-inch wheels and sport front seats.
- Technology Package: Adds a front collision mitigation system, lane-departure warning, driver attention alert and pedestrian and cyclist detection.
- Blind Spot Information System: Gets you a blind-spot warning system, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors.
The new Drive-E engines offer class-leading efficiency along with potent performance. We recommend the Drive-E models over the six-cylinder unless you can't live without all-wheel drive.
