2018 Lexus RX 350L: Preview, Pricing, Release Date

, Senior Pricing Analyst - November 29, 2017

Model Preview

The Lexus RX 350L will be a new, three-row variant of the popular RX 350 crossover. Although full details have not yet been revealed, it appears likely that the vehicle will offer seating for up to 7 passengers (an increase over the current maximum capacity of 5).

Based on an initial teaser, the RX 350L appears to feature the same overall look we've become accustomed to seeing in the current RX. Distinguishing features are as yet unclear, although it's possible that standard equipment or wheel options could differ slightly.

Under the hood, specs for the RX 350L have not yet been announced. We think the odds are high that Lexus will offer the same 3.5-liter V6 from the 2018 RX 350 rated at 295 hp. Separately, the automaker will offer a three-row hybrid called the RX 450hL, a variant of the existing RX 450h for drivers demanding better fuel economy.

Official pricing for the RX 350L has not yet been announced. For some perspective, the current RX starts at $43,220 including destination for the base model with front-wheel drive. At the top of the range, the F Sport variant with all-wheel drive starts at $51,515 before factoring in optional equipment. At the moment, we wouldn't be surprised if the RX 350L started just under $46,000.

Check back for updates as new information becomes available.

The RX 350L is set to officially debut this month at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
