2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport: Redesign Info, Release Date

  January 28, 2016

The Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is due for its next full redesign in 2018 for the 2019 model year.

Unfortunately, little is known about what the next vehicle will look like. The current generation was introduced in 2013 along with a strategy by Hyundai to split the Santa Fe it into two models- the standard model and the Santa Fe Sport. Doing so allowed the automaker to introduce an alluring 2.0-liter turbo engine with the Sport while giving the larger Santa Fe greater capacity with a third-row.

Trends we've observed in the segment have centered on expanded premium trim lines, enhanced connectivity with digital devices and the addition of advanced safety tech. For the first time, the Santa Fe Sport will get automatic braking with the 2017 model year. Available as part of the optional Ultimate Tech Package, the feature comes bundled with adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning. Less-expensive versions can be equipped with blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert and lane change assist.

Expect more precise info to emerge closer to launch in 2018.
