Early Acura models like the Integra and Legend offered car shoppers a substantial upgrade in terms of quality and driving dynamics in comparison to their Honda stablemates, the Civic and Accord. While Acura started with only two models, the brand has grown to include the standard fare of most auto manufacturers including hybrids, sedans, coupes, SUVs, sport wagons, and hatchbacks. All of these vehicles range in price from the late $20k range through the mid to late 40s. This allows Acura to appeal to a wide variety of buyers who might otherwise be turned off from the more expensive luxury imports whose entry-level models start at $34-37k.
Acura's flagship model, the Acura RL, features the latest technological advancements in safety and drivetrain layouts, including their highly-touted i-VTEC cam timing system and SH-AWD system which concurrently provides both safety and performance. The mid-level TL offers two different engine options: a 4-cylinder and a 6-cylinder. Rounding out the sedans (Acura does not offer a coupe), the ILX gives buyers a reliable hybrid option which provides improved fuel efficiency versus the standard 4-cylinder engine. The ZDX is a sporty, stylish coupe option, while the MDX and RDX present two different SUV sizes and body styles. All-wheel-drive is available on most models.
Going forward Acura continues to produce high-quality, reliable and stylish vehicles. Based on many Honda platforms, the 2013 Acura lineup features the reliability one associates with Honda, with an additional boost of both performance and legacy from racing-inspired engines, suspension systems and aerodynamics. Acura's calling card as of late is the integration of bleeding-edge in-car technology, from its award-winning navigation to its sublime premium audio systems. These attributes combine to create a vehicles that will reward its' owners for years to come.
