The RL is powered by a 300-hp 3.7-liter V6 engine, paired to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and paddle shifters. Acura's exclusive Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system enhances grip, stability and all-weather control, while an electric power assist steering system provides direct feedback. Every RL is outfitted with 18-inch alloy wheels, Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights and a power moonroof; interior comforts include heated front seats, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, satellite radio, a USB port and HandsFreeLink (Bluetooth) wireless connectivity/audio streaming. An available Technology Package adds heated/ventilated front seats and an Active Front Lighting System (AFS), as well as a voice-activated navigation system with integrated rearview camera parking assist and real-time traffic and weather information. To the Technology Package, the Advance Package adds power-folding exterior mirrors and adaptive cruise control with a Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS). Standard safety features include four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control, front side-impact airbags, overhead curtain airbags, active front head restraints and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Following a refresh last year, the Acura RL carries over unchanged for 2012.
