Acura TL Generations
The front-wheel drive TL is outfitted with a 280-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine, while the all-wheel drive TL SH-AWD features a more powerful 305-hp 3.7-liter V6. Both engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, featuring Sequential SportShift manual mode and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters; a conventional six-speed manual transmission is available on the all-wheel drive model. Acura's exclusive Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system enhances grip, stability and all-weather control, while an electric power assist steering system on both models provides direct feedback. Every TL is equipped with a power moonroof, Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, heated front seats, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, satellite radio and HandsFreeLink (Bluetooth) wireless connectivity. The TL SH-AWD is further distinguished by exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, bumper-integrated front brake cooling ducts and quad tailpipes. A Technology Package is available on both models, including a navigation system with voice activation, keyless access, upgraded audio, premium leather and a rear decklid spoiler with integrated rearview camera. An Advance Package offers heated and cooled front seats, blind spot information system, and upgraded wheels.
2004 - 2012 Acura TL
Major changes included: In this generation, the TL?s horsepower was revved up to 270 hp, and a new A-SPEC package became available that offers ?tuner? options. The TL also became the first car in America to include a 6-disc DVD-Audio system. In addition, the TL features a Bluetooth HandsFree Link (HFL) that is intergrated into the audio system, allowing for hands-free use of a cellphone.

2000 - 2003 Acura TL
Major changes included: The second generation brought many changes, including a 5-speed automatic transmission, as well as side impact airbags for the front passengers. In 2002, the TL received an exterior makeover, which included new taillights.

1996 - 1999 Acura TL
Major changes included: The TL was the first Acura to take on the letter/number system, later used on other models. The TL was first available as the 2.5L with a four-cylinder engine; a V-6 3.2L was later added. It has a rich feature-set, including climate control, power driver?s seat, and anti-lock brakes (ABS). Its only option is a navigation system.
