Acura introduced its aggressively designed ZDX—built to compete in the advancing luxury crossover SUV market—in 2009. Although it resembles the Honda Crosstour, the two corporate cousins are actually based on different platforms.
The severe profile of the ZDX's slanting roof proved controversial, and the model never really caught on with Acura's relatively conservative customers. Production will cease after 2013.
Ironically, after a four-year model run without any significant changes, the ZDX received a number of notable cosmetic enhancements for 2013. New design elements include a sportier grille.
