First introduced to North America in 2009, the Q5 shares Audi's MLP (modular longitudinal platform) with the A4 sedan. The compact crossover received a mild facelift for 2013, but is still in its first generation.
The Q5 provides more car-like performance than the Q7, but can't match the cargo space of its larger sibling. Audi has expanded available drivetrains, which now include a hybrid option capable of delivering 24 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. Although few luxury crossovers are as fun to drive as the Q5 when equipped with quattro all-wheel drive and a supercharged V6.
