The Q5 is a midsize luxury crossover SUV with seating for 5. Available trim levels for 2011 are the base 2.0T Premium and upscale 2.0T Premium Plus, along with the 3.2 Premium Plus and 3.2 Prestige. The 2.0T uses Audi's famous turbocharged 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder making 211 hp, mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. This engine and transmission are both new for 2011. Upgrading to the 3.2 brings a 270 hp 3.2-liter V6, mated to a 6-speed automatic. All Q5 models come with quattro all-wheel drive.
Safety features include anti-lock brakes with brake assist, electronic stability control, 5 seatbelt pretensioners and 6 airbags, including optional rear side airbags. The Prestige trim includes a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system and the Audi MMI Navigation Plus package, which includes digital music storage, HD radio, voice control and Audi's joystick-based MMI infotainment control interface. Fuel economy is above average for the segment at 20 city/27 highway mpg for the 2.0T and 18 city/23 highway mpg with the 3.2.
