The Q5 Hybrid is a new addition to the Audi lineup, having arrived late in 2012. Its 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine pairs with an electric motor to produce a combined 245 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque.

The 0 to 60 mph dash takes only 6.8 seconds, and impressive fuel efficiency ratings of 24 mpg city and 30 mpg highway belie the hybrid's 4,431-pound curb weight.

Like all Audis, the Q5 Hybrid boasts handsome exterior styling. The downward slope of the roofline does, however, limit usable cargo space. Three-zone automatic climate control comes standard, as does leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof.

Major changes included:

New in 2013, the Q5 Hybrid was essentially a regular Q5 with a hybrid powertrain. Powered by a turbocharged 2-liter inline four-cylinder engine paired with a 54-horsepower electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack, this combo produced 245 horsepower, more than many gasoline-powered compact crossover engines. An eight-speed shiftable automatic transmission offered a different driving experience than most hybrids’ continuously variable transmissions. Of course, Audi’s all-wheel drive was standard.
