The S4 is outfitted with a dynamic 333-hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine with FSI direct fuel injection. A standard six-speed manual transmission and Audi's quattro all-wheel drive system transfer power to the ground; a seven-speed S tronic automatic transmission, including manual gear selection and paddle shifters, is optional. The S4 comes with a power sunroof, 18-inch aluminum wheels and performance tires, Xenon plus headlights, LED tail lamps, heated front sport seats, leather/simulated suede upholstery, three-zone climate control, satellite radio, Bluetooth wireless connectivity and an Audi Music Interface. An available Prestige package boasts 19-inch aluminum wheels, adaptive headlights, MMI navigation plus, Bang & Olufsen premium sound, HD radio and Advanced Key passive entry/start. Standard safety features include electronic stability and traction control systems, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, front side-impact airbags, overhead curtain airbags for front and rear passengers, and a tire pressure monitor; rear parking sensors, a blind spot monitor and rear side-impact airbags are also available.
Major changes included: The fifth generation S4 brought forced induction back into the equation, dropping the 4.2-liter V8 of the previous model in favor of a supercharged 3.0-liter V6. Now making slightly less power (329 horsepower) but more torque (325 lb-ft.), the fifth generation S4 is more efficient thanks to its supercharger system and direct injection and it dodges the gas guzzler tax that plagued the previous V8 models. Audi?s Quattro all-wheel drive comes standard along with a 6-speed manual or optional 7-speed twin-clutch automated manual transmission. A set of 18-inch alloy wheels come standard but 19-inch S-Line alloy wheels are also available. Other key features include an electronic stability program, tire pressure monitoring system and Bluetooth phone interface.
