The TT blends the original Bauhaus styling with Audi's current modern design theme and advanced technology. The coupe's spaceframe is 69% aluminum and 31% steel (roadster = 58/42%), with most of the steel in the rear to offset the weight of the engine and better balance the car. All TT's are all-wheel drive and are powered by a 211-hp turbocharged direct-injection 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a six-speed automatic S-tronic as the only transmission choice. Safety features include front, side and knee airbags, tire pressure monitoring and 4-wheel anti-lock brakes and stability control.
Major changes included: The second generation TT picks up where the original left off and lives on as Audi?s fun-to-drive, compact luxury sports coupe. With many engines and other options to choose from, the TT can be equipped to fit any driver?s needs. The standard TT is available with a choice between a turbocharged 207-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, turbocharged 160-hp 1.8-liter four-cylinder (available only on the roadster model) or 247-hp 3.2-liter narrow-angle V6. Front-wheel drive comes standard, but Quattro all-wheel drive is also offered. Starting in 2008, the sportier TTS model became available. With a tuned version of the turbocharged 2.0-liter now producing 268 horsepower and Quattro all-wheel drive as standard equipment, the TTS is the model most likely to thrill enthusiasts.
