The more powerful of BMW's entry-level 1 Series models, the 135 is available in coupe and convertible variants. The rear-wheel drive subcompact has been in on sale in Europe since 2004—where it's also built as a hatchback—but didn't reach U.S. showrooms until 2008.
With 300 horsepower on tap—70 more than 128—the turbocharged 135 accelerates more smartly than its naturally aspirated sibling. It also has a sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch wheels, eight-way power front seats, adaptive xenon headlights, an aerodynamic kit, and a sunroof (coupe).
