Choosing Your 2025 BMW M4
There are three trims offered; M4, M4 Competition, and M4 Competition xDrive, and base prices for the coupe range from $80,095 to $89,295. The convertible M4 is available only with the Competition xDrive trim and starts at $96,295. The M440 and 4-Series models are covered separately.
2025 BMW M4 Engine Options
The M4 is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. In Base trim, it generates 473 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. In Competition trim, the engine puts out 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The xDrive Competition Coupe and Convertible models see a power boost for 2025 to 523 horsepower.
The Base trim features a six-speed manual transmission while the other variants only offer the base trim’s available eight-speed automatic transmission. The xDrive models are equipped with all-wheel drive.
2025 BMW M4 Fuel Economy
The official ratings for the 2025 model have not yet been released, however, the similar 2024 model earned either 18 or 19 miles per gallon in base and maximum-performance trims, respectively. The government expects annual fuel costs to be about $3,400.
2025 BMW M4 Dimensions & Cargo Capacity
The M4 is 189 inches long and 74.3 inches wide - placing it 1.2 inches and 1.4 inches greater than the 4-Series on which the M4 is based. The M4, like the 4-Series, has seating for four. The rear seats are relatively spacious with 34.7 inches of legroom although one might check out the M3 for more space while the trunk is fairly generous with 12 cubic feet of volume.
2025 BMW M4 Safety
The M4 is equipped with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection, parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition. The automatic transmission-equipped M4 Competition models offer the Driving Assistance Package for $1,700 which includes
adaptive cruise control with lane centering, low-speed follow, lane change assist, emergency stop assist, and steering evasion assist.
2025 BMW M4 Technology
All M4 models feature a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with SiriusXM, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless phone charging. The 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen utilizes BMW’s latest system generation and features M-specific menus and read-outs. The large familiar menu controller remains mounted on the center console.

2025 BMW M4 - MSRP From $80,095
Build & Price >The 2025 M4 features several updated features such as a revised front fascia with arrowhead LED daytime running lights that double as turn signals, precise rear taillight LED shapes, and new 18-inch front and 19-inch wheels, while unique M-specific mirrors, a carbon fiber roof panel, adaptive dampers, unique suspension designs, an active rear differential, performance compound brakes with six-piston front calipers, and quad exhaust outlets sustain the M4’s go-fast reputation.
Inside, the M4 features a dash with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen display behind a solid curved cover, fewer physical buttons - HVAC controls are now in the display screen, additional ambient lighting, updated trim, and a re-shaped steering wheel with a red stripe indicating the 12-o’clock position and, for the first time its available Alcantara wrapping can be combined with heating elements.
Other materials' finishes have been improved for 2025 for a more upscale appearance. Partial Merino leather sport seats feature an illuminated M emblem and are offered in an extensive number of color combinations. Full-leather seats are $2,550 and carbon fiber trim can be added to the interior for $950 or throughout the car for $14,300.
The $700 Parking Assistance Package includes a surround-view camera with 3D visualizations and a Drive Recorder. The $1,200 Executive Package includes a power trunk lid, a head-up display with special M-specific displays, and a heated steering wheel. For those looking for track-day performance, the M4 offers carbon-ceramic brakes for $8,500 and the M Drive Professional for $900 which includes additional traction control settings and a lap timer - the xDrive models include a Drift Analyzer.

Build & Price >The M4 Competition features more power, an eight-speed automatic transmission with several selectable shift programs, 19 and 20-inch staggered wheels, additional high-gloss black exterior trim such as the grille inserts, mirror caps, and rear bumper apron, steering wheel paddle shifters, and several M4 Competition Logos throughout.
2025 BMW M4 xDrive Competition - MSRP From $89,295
Build & Price >The M4 xDrive Competition receives an advanced system that optimizes power distribution for maximum attack while permitting balanced four-wheel drifts. There is also a rear-drive mode, should one choose to turn off most safety systems. The M4 xDrive Competition Convertible starts at $96,295 and uniquely offers heated neck warmers for $650.
The BMW M4 is set up for a la carte and we’d select the Parking Assistance Package for a little added convenience and luxury for this high-performance sports machine. The manual transmission will be a draw for many enthusiasts.
