BMW introduced the Z4 in 2002 as a replacement for the popular Z3. In 2009, a second-generation Z4 arrived with a retractable hardtop in lieu of the traditional soft-top.

The Z4 stands out with a powerful supercharged engine, performance handling, sporty styling and an exhilarating driving experience. You won't find many cars better suited to the curvy mountain roads and coastline highways we always see car commercials. As an added bonus, the Z4 comes with something you can't take for granted in a roadster: plenty of legroom.

Major changes included: The second generation Z4 features revised styling and improved performance over the previous model. Now offered with a retractable hardtop roof, the new Z4 replaces both the coupe and convertible models of the previous generation. Two trim levels are available, the sDrive30i and sDrive35i, each with different engines. A 255-hp 3.0-liter inline-six can be found in the sDrive30i, while a twin-turbocharged 300-hp 3.5-liter inline-six comes in the sDrive35i. A 6-speed manual is standard on both models, while a 6-speed tiptronic automatic is also offered and a 7-speed twin-clutch automated manual transmission is available on the sDrive35i. Adaptive M Sport suspension is also an option, and gives the Z4 a sportier feel.
