Ford's SYNC AppLink offers advanced features like the company's SYNC with MyFord Touch system, but without the touchscreen interface, to cater to those who would prefer traditional buttons and dials. Now SYNC AppLink's family of data-enhanced apps is growing, including the new Glympse location sharing service.

Glympse works like this: using voice commands, you can use SYNC-enabled cars to share your current location with friends, providing an instant usable answer to the question "Where are you?". Through Bluetooth or USB pairing, your location can be sent via email or text, or to popular social networks like Facebook and Twitter. Others can then receive real-time map updates of your location for a user-defined amount of time. Possible uses include keeping tabs on the kids when they borrow the car, or alerting another driver to your location for a meet-up.

Other SYNC AppLink helpful apps, which harness your smartphone's data connection to provide entertainment, navigation and productivity services:

iHeartRadio
Pandora
Slacker Internet Radio
TuneIn
MOG Music
MLB.com At Bat
SYNC Destinations
Scout by TeleNav
NPR News
Stitcher Smart Radio
Allergy Alert
Orangatame OpenBeak
ROXIMITY Location Based Discounts

SYNC AppLink is available now on 2013 Fiesta, Mustang, Expedition, Fusion, F-150, Super Duty, Focus, E-Series and C-MAX.
