Are There Any Tax Issues When Shipping Cars from State to State?

In the majority of cases there are no tax issues when shipping cars from state to state. Unfortunately, there are some states that will charge a fee, so check with the tax agencies of both states when moving to a new location. There are some states that charge a one-time fee for bringing a car into the state. Some states require a smog check on vehicles, so be aware of the requirements in the new state before getting new license plates. Any reputable shipping company should be able to advise you on any tax implications of moving your car to a new state.
