Can I Get Pet Car Insurance for Injury Coverage?

December 3, 2010

Pet car insurance is typically an addition to an auto insurance collision provision. In most cases, you will need to purchase collision coverage in order to have your pet covered for accidents caused by you. This type of insurance is different from pet insurance, which is an insurance policy geared towards pet health. Pet car insurance is a type of insurance that pays for injuries to your pet that are caused by an auto accident. Most auto insurance companies do not sell specific pet coverage. However, because pets are considered property (by the law), the other driver’s liability coverage will pay for your pet’s injuries.
