There are many options if you are looking at storage for cars. There are several reasons you may be looking to store your car. You may have a convertible and live in a cold area, and you won't be putting the top down in the winter. You may have a classic 1968 Mustang that you only drive to the auto show, but have no place to put it when it isn't being shown off. Or maybe you just have no space for that extra car. Whatever the case may be, you have options and many to select from at that.
Outdoor Storage
Outdoor storage is an option for you if you just need some extra space at your home. You may have too many cars in your driveway, or just not enough space to park on the street. An outdoor storage spot is where you literally rent a spot, maybe in a parking lot, where you can park your car. It will be a reserved spot where only you can park in it. The cost is pretty minimal and can be a viable option if you still use that car often. Since you will likely be driving the car, having it out in the rain or sunlight likely won't be an issue. If it is, than outdoor storage is not for you, and you will want to use some of the other options below.
Indoor Car Storage
Indoor car storage can be a variety of things. Car storage in a garage is popular. The garage can be your own, which will protect your car from the elements, as well as make you feel safe, as the car will always be in your possession. You could also choose to use a storage unit to store the car. This unit is rented out similar to a storage unit you may use for furniture or seasonal items. Storage units come in two types; climate controlled, and not climate controlled. Climate controlled options are normally specific to cars, since keeping them in a nice cool temperature is ideal. Non-climate controlled storage units can become very hot or very cold depending on the current weather. The climate controlled option is much better, since it is at ideal conditions instead of extremes. This is a great option for if you have a classic car. This option will cost more than outside storage since you will have a cover over your car.
Long Term Car Storage
Long term car storage can be an option for a couple different groups. One group would be the classic car collector group as mentioned before. Another person who may want long term car storage is one that maybe is moving away for a year or two on business, or buying a second house but not taking all their cars. Long term storage is the most expensive of these options, but that is obvious since it is probably for the longest time. These places normally work, just in long term storage, and usually have the best security features and conditions than regular storage units.
