Figures To Expect on a New Truck Price Tag
|
|
Although you may expect the truck price to be the only number on a price invoice, a new truck’s pricing page contains many different figures. The basic manufacturer’s invoice contains information about the vehicle such as a brief model description, fuel mileage figures and the suggested manufacturer’s price for the basic model and optional equipment.
Base Model
The base model price includes the truck body, interior and common chassis type for the vehicle. It also includes environmental controls such as heating or air conditioning, radio and other basic features.
Extra Equipment
Following the listing for the base model, you’ll find separate charges for any options that were installed on the vehicle at the factory. These may include interior electronic, such as a better stereo or a global positioning unit, or it may include hardware such as upgraded seating and interior trim. Each of these optional additions are listed on the truck price tag.
Most trucks that are larger and serve as both personal and work vehicles offer gasoline or diesel-engine options. Wheel configurations are options which allow people to choose between conventional 2-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive system for off-road or heavy-duty usage. These options are listed separately on the price list as well.
