If you are ordered by the court to attend traffic school, home traffic school may be a good option for you.

Proof must be submitted to the court that the traffic school you have opted for is approved by the DMV and the school can offer credits and point reduction. When choosing the online school, select the state where the traffic violation happened and then select the district where the citation was delivered. Care should be taken to ascertain that the traffic school is recognized by the insurance company if the purpose of doing the course is to reduce insurance premiums.

Cost
Prices for the courses vary across different states. The price should match the motorist's state as courses and certifications are not transferable in case of underpayment. Motorists have to provide their personal information, such as name, address and license number to make online payments through credit cards.

Exams
Some online traffic schools allow you to take the exam online, while others require that the exam be taken in the presence of a notary. Select a school that offers the exam in accordance with the rules of the state where the traffic offence occurred. Pros

You can take the course in your pajamas and still do well. A home traffic school works great if you have small children, as you won't need to get a babysitter
• Taking the course at home saves time and money. You can save driving time and looking for a parking place. You save money on gas, or for cab and bus fares
• You have fewer distractions if you take a course from a home traffic school and are able to concentrate more effectively. Taking the course in person may place you in a group of noisy people or you may be forced to sit near someone who is distracting or makes you feel uncomfortable

Cons

• By not attending a traffic school in person, you don't have the ability to interact one on one with the instructor. Often, the instructors will add more details to the subject matter, enhancing the lessons
• You also won't be able to hear the questions of other students and the answers to those questions. Others often bring up ideas that are important and require more thought
• You don't have the advantage of class discussion about topics that may be of serious concern and importance
• You may have difficulty understanding the subject matter and can't just raise your hand to get clarification Your driving safety and knowledge of traffic laws could be at stake.
