Chevrolet Equinox LS
The Chevrolet Equinox LS is a small SUV. The Equinox provides the style and utility associated with more traditional SUV, minus the poor fuel economy. The LS is the basic model of the Chevrolet Equinox. Older models of the Equinox offered roomy interiors, however the interior materials left something to be desired. A new Equinox is available that offers new styling and a new engine for improved fuel economy.
Performance
The Equinox LS gets 32 miles per gallon highway and 600 highway miles to a tank of gas. The new motor has put the Chevrolet Equinox in the lead for fuel economy when compared to other models such as the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and the Ford Escape Hybrid. The Equinox offers an ECOTEC 2.4 L 4-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection and a 6-speed transmission. The low-rolling resistance tires that come equipped also help the fuel economy.
Interior
The interior is certainly built with a family in mind. The Equinox offers multi-flex rear seats and provides the most rear-seat legroom in its class. There is also plenty of storage room in the Equinox to put groceries or luggage. A customer can opt to install a rear-entertainment system with dual seat-mounted DVD screens for an extra price. Also available at an extra price are features such as navigation, a power programmable lift-gate and entertainment system.
Safety
The Chevrolet Equinox comes equipped with lots of safety features; another plus for the family. The Equinox comes stock with 6 standard air bags, stabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control system with rollover mitigation, and one year of the OnStar Safe and Sound Plan. The Equinox offers the consumer to upgrade to all-wheel drive and rear camera system.
Overall, the Equinox is quite impressive. It's stylish inside and out and offers a smooth and quiet ride.
