The Avenger name returns to the line-up for 2008 to replace the mid-size front-wheel-drive Stratus sedan, and offers many sporty features and standard equipment found in higher class vehicles. Dodge also introduces the Challenger, a modern interpretation of the classic American muscle coupe, for 2008. The Dodge Grand Caravan has been redesigned and is now only available in the longer wheelbase version. The Durango adds a hybrid version to its lineup. The muscular Viper receives an larger 8.4 liter V10 which produces an astounding 600 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque. The hood on the 2008 Dodge Viper features newly engineered louvered vents which aid in cooling and reduce aerodynamic lift at triple-digit speeds. The Ram 1500 adds a new more powerful and more efficient 4.7-liter V8. The Ram 2500 and 3500 add a new SXT model.

Like its parent, DaimlerChyrsler, Dodge is quite competitive in offering discounts. These generally take the form of low APRs and cash allowances. Although, you’ll tend to only find these on slow selling models.

Dodge has been making a splash with their new models. The Magnum and Charger were recognized as a Consumer Guide "Best Buy" in their respective categories in 2006. These two models also were praised by Road and Travel Magazine; the Charger was named International Car of the Year, while the Magnum SRT8 was named the Crossover of the Year. And Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com named the Caliber as one of the top 10 coolest new vehicles under $18,000.
