User #1:
I owned a 99 dodge Durango. It was always visiting the garage. The transmission had problems within, not the entire transmission, so it had to go through numerous tests. After owning it for two months, the fan belt went out. It always had problems with the alignment. It would be fixed, then a week later was out again.
User #2:
Sources have stated some common problems are the battery failing prematrely, and the engine light not turning off. Another problem is the engine stalling without any warning and the engine failing due to excess engine sludge. Then, finally another problem is the ABS and traction control failing.
User #3:
The transmission valve body needed replacement due to shifting issues. Had a broken oil seal on rear differential. At 71,000 I needed the AC compressor replaced.
User #3:
On 4x4 the CV axle boots tear. The front end components wear. Some problems with brake caliper bolt threads.
