3/4 Front Glamour 2014 FIAT 500c

Overview

Research by Year

Designed to give buyers open-top motoring in a small and stylish package, the 500c continues Fiat's recent push into the North American market. It will be a challenge, though, in a segment crowded with big personalities like the MINI Convertible and the Smart Fortwo Cabrio.

The Fiat 500c features a 1.4-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine that's good for a modest 101 horsepower and an equally tepid 98 pound-feet of torque. While these figures don't give the 500c standout performance, the little convertible makes up for this deficit by offering an extensive suite of standard equipment with features such as four wheel disc brakes, power locks, rear park assist, premium cloth or leather seating, power windows, keyless entry, Bluetooth, and electronic stability control.

Major changes included:

Fiat returned to the U.S. in 2012 with the release of the 500 and 500c convertible. The first-gen 500c checked in as a compact city car with a slide-back roof, and standard 1.4-liter four-pot engine that produced 101 horsepower and 98 pound-feet of torque through a standard five-speed transmission. Jumping into the 500c Abarth netted the tiny hatchback a 1.4-liter engine that produced 160 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque.
