Ford F-150 SuperCrew Generations
The F-150 is available in six distinct trim levels: XL, STX, XLT, FX2/FX4, Lariat, and King Ranch. Each boasts its own interior style, engine, suspension and cab configuration. Engines include a 4.2-liter V6, a 4.6-liter V8, and a 5.4-liter V8. The V6 offers a choice of four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission. Both V8s come with four-speed automatic transmissions, although the 5.4 comes with a heavy-duty unit. The flexible fuel version of the 5.4-liter V8 can run on E85 ethanol. The SuperCrew features a back seat that's roomy and comfortable for adults. It offers 39.0 inches of rear legroom, compared with 32.7 inches for the SuperCab. Properly equipped, a Ford F-150 can tow 10,500 pounds or haul more than 3,050 pounds in the bed.
Major changes included: The F-150 gets a curvaceous makeover and three new engine choices in 1997. The supercharged Lightning is reintroduced in 1999, the Harley-Davidson edition debuts in 2000, and the SuperCrew body style arrives for the 2001 model year. |
Major changes included: America's best-selling vehicle gets a smoother, more aerodynamic look in 1992; this year also sees the reintroduction of the Flareside bed design. The sporty Lightning model joins the lineup in '93 (only to be dropped in '96), and the luxurious Eddie Bauer edition debuts in 1995. |
