GMC is the moniker of the General Motors division which produces trucks and SUVs. The division was originally a truck company called Rapid Motor Vehicle Company which was procured by General Motors in 1909 and renamed GMC Truck. The first models the company introduced were public service and military vehicles – a tradition which continues today. Eventually GMG introduced the T16 and T20 to the general public.
