One the longest-running models in the history of autodom, the GMC Yukon XL was known as the Suburban from 1936 to 1999. Along with its Chevrolet twin—still called Suburban—the Yukon XL is the largest SUV you can buy, with room for up to nine passengers and a stunning cargo capacity of 137 cubic feet. The current-generation XL debuted in 2007 along with the rest of the Yukon line.
The heavy-duty 2500 model carries a standard 6-liter V8 with 352 horsepower. Opting for ultra-plush Denali trim gets you a 6.2-liter version good for 403 horses. Either way, towing capacity approaches 10,000 pounds.
