The 8-passenger Pilot is available in both front- and four-wheel drive configurations, each with a choice of four trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L and Touring. All trim levels feature an advanced 250-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine, paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. The Pilot delivers impressive fuel economy through Honda's Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology, an engine cylinder-deactivation system that is capable of operating in either 6-cylinder mode for power or 4- and 3-cylinder modes for efficiency. Standard equipment on the LX includes a lift-up glass hatch, 17-inch wheels, CD player, front and rear air conditioning, cruise control and three rows of seating; EX trims add 18-inch aluminum wheels, fog lights, tri-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth wireless phone/audio streaming and 2GB of internal media storage, while EX-L trims are further outfitted with a power liftgate, power moonroof, leather upholstery, heated front seats, satellite radio and a USB port. The Touring trim gets exclusive premium features that include a voice-activated hard-drive based navigation system with 15GB of internal storage and real-time FM Traffic, along with a rear DVD entertainment system. Safety features found on every Pilot include four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control, front side-impact airbags, side-curtain airbags for all three rows and active anti-whiplash front head restraints; a rearview camera parking aid is also standard on EX-L and Touring trims.
Major changes included: The second generation Honda Pilot underwent a major redesign, which included a refreshed exterior and interior and a new 250-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine. The Pilot is offered in four trim levels, including LX, EX, EX-L and Limited. All models come with Honda's new 3.5-liter V6 mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission and have the option of full-time four-wheel drive with Variable Torque Management. The new engine features Variable Cylinder Management, allowing for the car to run on three, four or all six cylinders depending on engine load. This helps maximize fuel economy and efficiency. A tire pressure monitoring system is also standard on all models.
