For 2009, Hyundai’s top-of-the-line Genesis sedan continues where it left off amassing multiple awards of the year in addition to beating out more expensive German and Japanese competition, and deservedly so. The 2009 Genesis sedan produces 375 horsepower in V8 trim while achieving exemplary ride quality and has been dubbed as the quietest sedan in any class. The 2009 Hyundai Accent has improved fuel economy while offering cruise control as an option. Hyundai’s popular Sonata gets a few updates as well for 2009 in the form of new front and rear fascias, tweaked engines for more power and fuel economy and sportier handling due to updated damping rates.

Hyundai tends to offer fairly generous discounts. These include rebates, special APR rates, lease deals and incentives for return buyers.

The big news for Hyundai in 2009 is the scheduled release of the highly-anticipated Genesis Coupe. This is not just a revision of Hyundai's Tiburon, but an all-new rear-wheel-drive sports coupe that shares it's suspension and brakes with the top-of-the-line Genesis sedan. The engine choices at press time were rumored to be a small-displacement 4-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 200 horsepower in addition to a 3.8-liter V6 that promises to produce more torque and power in more instantaneous fashion. The Genesis coupe will go on sale in the spring of 2009.
