The FX35 slots below the FX50 in Infiniti's lineup of stylish and sporty midsize luxury crossover SUVs. Powering either the rear or all 4 wheels is a 3.5-liter V6 making 303 hp and 262 lb-ft. of torque, mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission featuring manual shift control and automatic downshift rev-matching. The combination returns 16 city/25 mpg highway with rear-wheel drive or 16/23 mpg with all-wheel drive.
While the FX trails segment leaders in interior room and cargo space (24.8 cubic feet behind the split-folding and reclining rear seat, or 62 cubic feet with it folded flat), its sporty driving dynamics are unmatched by the likes of the Acura MDX, Lexus RX 350 and Lincoln MKX. A fully independent suspension uses double wishbones up front and a multi-link setup in the rear. Safety features include front active head restraints, driver and passenger side-impact airbags, side-curtain airbags for both rows, LATCH child safety seat interface and traction and stability control systems.
