Infiniti was a late arrival to the full-size luxury SUV market when it released the QX56 in 2004. Like rivals from Lexus, Lincoln and Cadillac, the QX56 shared its platform with a non-premium corporate cousin -- in this case, the Nissan Armada.
Based on the international market's more rugged Nissan Patrol since a 2011 redesign, the QX56 has a 5.6-liter V8 that produces 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. Mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission, the powertrain delivers fuel economy of 14 mpg city and 20 mpg highway.
