What's New
As Jaguar gears up to become an all-electric brand by 2025, its XF sedan sees no significant changes for the 2024 model year. Buyers have a choice of engines and drivetrains, but only one trim level on offer, with prices starting just north of $50,000.
Choosing Your Jaguar XF
Your choice of XFs comes down to a selection between the 246 hp P250 or the 296 hp P300 engines. The former is RWD-only, retailing at $51,075, while the AWD P300 will set you back $54,775.
Engine Choices
The base engine in the 2024 Jaguar XF is a two-liter gas engine generating 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, supplied to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. If that’s not sufficient power, the AWD-only P300 model squeezes 296 hp and 295 lb-ft from the same engine and transmission configuration.
Fuel economy should be unchanged from 2023’s EPA-estimated 25 miles per gallon city, 33 mpg highway, and 28 combined in P250 models. The P300 returns 22/30/25 mpg respectively.
Engine Type | Horsepower | Torque | Fuel Economy (City/Highway/Combined) |
P250 RWD | 246 hp | 269 lb-ft | 25/33/28 mpg |
P300 AWD | 296 hp | 295 lb-ft | 22/30/25 mpg |
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
Cargo capacity for the five-seater XF sedan stands at 12.1 cu ft.
Safety Features
Jaguar has produced a variety of complex-sounding safety features, including All Surface Progress Control and Torque Vectoring By Braking. These are both present on the XF, alongside more familiar functionalities such as hill start assist, adaptive cruise control, and a driver condition monitor.
Rear traffic monitoring and blind spot assistance are standard alongside emergency braking, with parking aids at both ends of the XF and six airbags in between. The outside mirrors are heated and electrically power folding with memory, approach lighting, and auto-dimming on the driver’s side.
Connectivity
JLR’s ubiquitous Pivi Pro system makes another appearance in the XF, with an 11.4-inch touchscreen powering satellite radio and wireless smartphone mirroring.
The cabin is lightly sprinkled with USB and 12V sockets, while wireless device charging comes standard. A 12-speaker Meridian sound system is fitted, but there’s no option to upgrade any of the infotainment hardware. You can add a head-up display and WiFi hotspot capability as part of a combined package.
2024 Jaguar XF R-Dynamic SE – MSRP From $51,075
As the only trim level offered, it’s a good job Jaguar has loaded the XF with creature comforts. Keyless entry permits access into a cabin illuminated by a sliding panoramic roof and configurable ambient lighting, while 12-way electric memory front seats include two-way headrests and heating elements.
The heated leather steering wheel and its satin chrome gearshift paddles stand ahead of a configurable instrument display and above metal pedals. Other notable attributes include dual-zone climate, a powered trunk lid, and a pulsing push-button start.
The $1,350 Dynamic Pack adds 355mm and 325mm front and rear brakes with red calipers, behind 20-inch gloss black wheels and alongside configurable adaptive dynamics. The Driver Intelligence Pack combines a wide-angle rear camera mirror, a head-up display, and WiFi for $1,700.
With no trim levels to choose between, our money would go on the extra security of AWD, which is well-matched to the more powerful and responsive P300 engine.
