Kia Rio Generations
For each major redesign, a vehicle is said to begin a new "generation."
The Kia Rio is front-wheel drive with independent front suspension, a semi-independent rear suspension, 14-inch wheels on the Base and LX trims, and 15-inch on the SX trim. It's powered by a 110-hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder with continuously variable valve timing. Transmission choices include a standard five-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic (excluding the base trim). Safety features include seat-mounted side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags and front seat belt pretensioners.
