Model Preview
The 2024 Land Rover Discovery is expected to arrive as a carryover model without any major changes for the new year. The one change that Land Rover has made to the Discovery is to drop the R-Dynamic trim. Here’s what we expect to see from the 2024 Discovery.
The 2024 Discovery is expected to have the same overall exterior design as the current SUV that’s on sale. The Discovery features a high-end look that showcases its off-roading capability. The SUV features swept-back headlights, a small rectangular grille, and a large air vent.
Thanks to a blacked-out D-pillar and an available black roof, the Discovery looks like it has a floating roof. At the back, the Discovery has an upright liftgate, an off-centered license plate holder, and a streamlined bumper.
On the inside, the 2024 Land Rover Discovery has a high-end look with premium interior materials and simple lines. The tiered dashboard design is divided by a flowing center console that leads directly into the transmission tunnel. Most of the Discovery’s controls and touch-capacitive, but are well laid out. The Discovery will continue to have three rows of available seating and offer a total of 74.3 cubic feet of cargo space.
Tech features from the 2023 Discovery should carry over for the 2024 model year. The Land Rover Discovery should continue to come with an 11.4-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, navigation, a wireless charging pad, and a 12-speaker Meridian audio system. Available features include Wi-Fi hotspot and a 14-speaker Meridian audio system.
Land Rover is expected to offer the 2024 Discovery with the same two powertrains as the current SUV that’s on sale. The base engine will be a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. A turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine with a mild-hybrid system will be available. The mild-hybrid engine generates 355 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque. The Discovery comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and full-time all-wheel drive.
Standard safety features aren’t expected to change for the upcoming 2024 model year. The SUV should continue to come with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, parking sensors, a driver attention monitor, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Available safety features include automatic high-beam assist and a head-up display.
