As one of the smallest vehicles in the Land Rover lineup, the LR2 is aimed at consumers who want a luxury vehicle capable of navigating city landscapes during the week and off-road trails at the weekend.

For 2013, the LR2's 3.2-liter six-cylinder has been replaced by a 2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 240 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. Gas mileage is rated at 15 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. The new model features a refreshed grille, new headlight design and LED taillights.

Major changes included:

The first-generation LR2 arrived in 2008, taking the place of the Freelander. It featured a 3.2-liter V6 with 230 horsepower and 234 pound-feet of torque, and standard all-wheel drive. The LR2 was a healthy compromise of on-road performance with off-road capabilities. In 2011, the LR2 received a slightly revised grille and taillights for a refreshed look. For 2013, the 3.2-liter engine was dropped in favor of a 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 240 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. The 2013 model also ushered in a revised interior with three new color options and a new instrument panel, and a trio of new exterior colors.
