The Lexus RX first entered the hybrid game in 2006, and the current RX450h arrived in 2010. While Lexus builds all other RX models in Canada, it produces the hybrid in Japan.

The crossover's "Lexus Hybrid Drive" employs a Atkinson Cycle 3.5-liter V6 and up to three electric motors to produce a combined 295 horsepower. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional. The RX 450h can achieve up to 32 mpg in the city.

Loaded with standard features, the range-topping 450h transports up to five adults with unexpected performance and a clean "green" conscience.

Major changes included:

In 2010, Lexus replaced the RX 400h with the all-new RX 450h, which featured a new body and a larger-displacement engine than its predecessor. The RX 450h came standard with a 3.5-liter V6 engine combined with a pair of electric motors to produce a total of 295 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) was standard on the RX 450h, which was available in front- or all-wheel drive. In 2013, the RX 450h received the new Lexus spindle-look grille and revised headlights.
