Lotus Cars
Lotus is a British manufacturer of sports and racing cars based at Hethel, England. However in 1996, the company was bought by Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Bhd (Proton), a Malaysian car company. Lotus is famous for designing and building race and production automobiles of extremely lightweight and possessing legendary handling characteristics. Team Lotus was active and competitive in Formula One racing from 1958 to 1994, winning the world championship seven times.

Changes in the Lotus Cars Line-Up
For 2007, Lotus is releasing yet another model of their popular sports car called the Exige S coupe. With 220 horsepower and 165 lb-ft of torque—80 percent of which is available at 2000 rpm—the 2100-pound Exige S is said to be capable of attaining 60 miles per hour just 4.1 seconds. It will be sold in the U.S. for $57,860.
