An all-new model for 2013, the CX-5 was the first Mazda to fully encompass the brand's SkyActiv technology -- developed with the philosophy that obtaining more power, torque and miles per gallon does not need to come at the expense of fuel economy, design or safety.

With the CX-5, Mazda has created a crossover SUV with striking style and sensible purpose. Powered by a 2-liter gasoline engine, the CX-5 offered the best fuel economy of any gasoline-powered SUV when it hit showrooms in early 2012.

The interior is surprisingly spacious, and three trim levels mean plenty of standard and optional features at a competitive price. The CX-5 also earned the IIHS's top crash test rating.
