The compact luxury coupe from Mercedes-Benz, the C250 continues to impress buyers with its head-turning style and abundance of standard features. Although it's the least expensive route to a Mercedes coupe, the C250 delivers enough presence and prestige to draw admiring attention wherever you take it.

Choosing Your Mercedes-Benz C250
The rear-drive C250 runs with 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder good for 201 horsepower and a seven-speed automatic transmission. Expect to go from zero to 60 mph in about 7.1 seconds with this setup, and to get 25 mpg in combined driving. The interior offers a pleasantly sporty environment for four passengers, although five can fit in a pinch.
Standard features include a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats with driver memory, aluminum interior trim, a premium Harman Kardon sound system, automatic wipers, a collision mitigation system with automatic braking and a driver alertness monitor. You'll need to add some option packages, though, if you have the expectations of a typical premium car-buyer:
- The available Leather package adds leather upholstery and expanded passengers seat with controls with memory settings.
- Performance gets a boost from the available Sport Plus package, which adds larger brakes, 18-inch AMG wheels, an upgraded suspension, sport-tuned exhaust, sport seats and more aggressive trim throughout.
- The Appearance package offers a similar look without the performance hardware.
- There's also a Lighting package with bi-xenon headlamps, active curve illumination and automatic high beams.
- The available Multimedia package gets you a hard drive-based navigation system and a rearview camera, plus digital audio storage, an SD card reader, real-time traffic and weather data, and DVD-playing capability.
- The Driver Assistance package adds adaptive cruise control, active lane keeping assist and blind spot monitoring with assist.
Beyond all that, you can select from a handful of individual features such as keyless access, an automated parking system, 18-inch wheels and wood interior trim.
The Sport Plus package has a substantial effect on the C250's performance and looks. It's certainly worth $2,800 upcharge on a luxury coupe of this quality.
