When Mercedes-Benz unveiled its seven-passenger GL-Class in 2007 as a replacement for the G-Wagen, the German automaker didn't expect a public outcry that continues to keep the antiquated jeep-like SUV alive. The modern GL-Class attracted a new audience, however, and has entered its second generation after a complete 2012 redesign.
Manufactured in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the GL-Class comes with four engine options that range from a 240-horsepower turbo-diesel V6 to a 550-horsepower bi-turbo V8. All models feature the outstanding 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system, along with a long list of safety, luxury and entertainment features that make the GL-Class one of the most versatile and customizable luxury SUVs in the marketplace.
