The GL450 is the base gasoline-powered model within Mercedes-Benz's GL-Class lineup of full-size luxury SUVs, slotting next to the diesel GL350 BlueTec and below the gasoline GL550 in base price and standard features. The large but light-on-its-feet vehicle is powered by a 4.6-liter DOHC 32-valve V8 making 335 hp and 339 lb-ft. of torque. A 7-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control pairs with 4MATIC all-wheel drive putting power to the road. Safety features include a blind spot monitoring system, available rear-view camera, whiplash-reducing headrests for all 7 passengers, 3-row side curtain airbags and the Mbrace emergency response and telematics system.
