The latest commercial van from Mercedes-Benz, the Metris offers as much interior space as you can get in a vehicle that fits in your garage. Although it wears a luxury badge, the Metris is a blue-collar hauler designed for the rigors of daily work.
What's New for 2016
The Metris is brand new to the U.S. market.
Choosing Your Mercedes-Benz Metris
With 186 cubic feet of cargo space, the rear-drive Metris holds significantly more than any compact van, yet is only fractionally larger on the outside. At 75 inches high, it can comfortably clear a residential garage door. The Metris is rated to handle loads up to 2,502 pounds. Passenger models—which are mainly intended for shuttle service—can accommodate seven or eight people and about 38 cubic feet of cargo.
The sole engine is 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 208 horsepower, borrowed from Mercedes-Benz's compact passenger car line. A seven-speed automatic transmission comes standard, and an engine stop/start function is available for enhanced efficiency. All models can tow up to 4,960 pounds.
Standard equipment includes air conditioning, Bluetooth phone, a driver alertness monitor, crosswind assist, and power front windows (the optional rear windows are fixed). Seats are clad in your choice of black cloth or leatherette. You can go with the standard swing-out rear doors or opt for a hatchback-style liftgate. The cargo version can also get wide-opening doors that allow unfettered access to the rear opening.
The available Driver Comfort package adds more supportive front seats, cruise control, a rearview camera, navigation, foglamps, center console storage, and an extra set of keys. There's also a Cold Weather package with heated front seats, heated washer fluid, and interior insulation.
The Active Safety Plus package equips the Metris with features like blind spot monitoring, collision mitigation, lane keeping assist, and a first-aid kit. Parking sensor and an automated parking system can be added separately.
Passenger models are eligible for an Interior Appearance package with chrome trim, full carpeting, additional illumination, an overhead console, and a comfort-tuned suspension.

How you build out your Metris will of course depend on your specific business needs. The only thing we would insist on is the leatherette upholstery (only $70), which looks and feels infinitely better than the standard fabric.
