Mercedes-Benz introduced the S63 AMG in 2007 for drivers who wanted thrilling performance from their S-Class sedan. In 2011, a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 replaced the original model's naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter engine—the new motor produces a healthy 563 horsepower with an optional performance package.

The S-Class is scheduled for a redesign for the 2014 model year, only the fifth since since Mercedes-Benz launched the flagship sedan in 1972. It's likely that the next S63, or its successor, will pack even more performance into its luxurious package.

Both are powered by V8 engines and are driven by a 7-speed automatic transmission. Options include Parktronic park assist, rear view monitor, Four Zone climate control, and an AMG styling package.
