AMG may have begun as an independent Mercedes-Benz tuner, but it's now a wholly-owned subsidiary that supplies high-performance vehicles directly to dealer showrooms.
And for 2013, AMG has developed a stunning six-liter twin-turbo V12 for the S65 AMG. With 604 horsepower on tap, the flagship sedan launches to 60 mph in only 4.2 seconds, and charges onward to an electronically-limited top speed of 186 mph.
The S-Class was introduced in 1972, and is currently in its fifth design generation. A sixth-generation S-Class is scheduled to debut for the 2014 model year.
