Changes in the Mercedes-Benz Line-Up

The Mercedes-Benz model lineup receives big changes for 2010. The most significant lineup change is the all-new E-Class in both sedan and coupe body styles. The coupe features an all-new sliding panoramic glass roof, whole both versions will be offered with a 3.5L V6 (E350) or a 5.5L V8 (E550).

The clean diesel-powered version, or, BlueTEC E350 will also be available later in 2010, boasting both torque and fuel economy commonly unheard of using traditional gasoline-powered engines. The BlueTEC E350 will join the 2010 ML350 BlueTEC, 2010 GL350 BlueTEC and R350 BlueTEC in Mercedes' stable of clean-diesel vehicles.

The best-selling model in the MB lineup is the C-Class, which now features smaller side-view mirrors that automatically tilt-down when you reverse, helping the driver to parallel park in tight spaces without risking the event of scratching the alloy wheels. Mercedes' flagship S-Class sedan gets updated styling in the form of front and rear fascias feature larger grille openings.

The big news is the introduction of the all-new 2010 S400 Hybrid (not to be confused with their BlueTEC lineup) which uses a 279 horsepower 3.5L V6 augmented by a 20-horsepower electric motor. This configuration will help the S400 Hybrid achieve 29 MPG on the highway.

Additionally, the ML-Class will also be available in Hybrid guise and aptly named the ML350 Hybrid, featuring not one, but two electric motors bringing the total output to a whopping 335 horsepower and even more impressive 381 lb/ft of torque. Fuel economy numbers (21/24 MPG) will be significantly better than the regular ML350 (15/20 MPG).
