The Outlander is available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations, in ES, SE, or GT trim. The standard engine with the ES and SE trims is a 168-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The GT trim is equipped with a 230-hp 3.0-liter V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Safety features on all Outlanders include six-airbags, vehicle stability control, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, LED tail lamps, active front seat head restraints, traction control, and a tire-pressure monitor.
Major changes included: The second generation Outlander features a new 2.4 liter MIVEC I4 engine and 4wd with stability control. A 3.0 liter V6 is also available. It is available in ES, LS V6, SE, and XLS V6 trims.
