Cargo vans are all about utility, which is why buyers don't seem to mind driving a giant box on wheels. At least the Nissan NV offers a conventional truck front end, which makes it look and behave more like a vehicle designed for civilians. But like the big boxes, the NV is equipped with a ladder-type frame and rear-wheel drive for serious towing and hauling ability.
As the middle offering in NV line, the 2500HD can be outfitted with a 317-horsepower V8 in place of the standard V6. Buyers can also order a raised roof, which boosts cargo capacity to a whopping 323 cubic feet. Launched for 2012, the NV seems to be gaining traction with the public -- a new passenger model is due to 2014.
