Subaru Impreza WRX STi Overview

The Impreza WRX STi features world-class all-wheel drive performance derived from Subaru's rally racing efforts. Available in base and upscale Limited trim levels, the STi features an advanced 2.5-liter horizontally opposed turbocharged Boxer 4-cylinder offering 305 hp and 290 lb-ft. of torque, mated to a 6-speed conventional manual transmission. Starting at around $34,000, the STi bests many $100,000-plus sports cars around the track, thanks to its sophisticated Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, featuring limited-slip differentials both front and rear and driver-selectable performance settings.

Base models come with 18-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, xenon headlamps and leather-and-faux-suede sport seats, while stepping up to the Limited adds 18-inch BBS wheels, fog lights, full leather upholstery and a sunroof. A navigation system is optional. Fuel economy rings in at 17 city/23 highway mpg, trailing some other similar-powered models but not bad for a true performance machine.
