The all-new XV Crosstrek is one compact crossover that looks more at home in the dirt than the mall parking lot. Based on the Impreza, the Crosstrek combines Suburu's signature all-wheel drive system with reasonable ground clearance, making it suitable for moderate off-road duty. Matte black lower body cladding and matching alloy wheels give it a handsomely utilitarian look, especially when clad in earthy paint choices.

Oddly enough, the Crosstrek's outdoorsy nature makes it a fine urban warrior, capable of traversing potholes, hauling bicycles, and dodging taxicabs in whatever road conditions present themselves. Such personality indicates that Subaru fans have yet another car they can dearly love.

Major changes included:

In 2013, Subaru launched an all-new crossover SUV that it dubbed the XV Crosstrek. This compact crossover came standard with a 2-liter four-cylinder engine that produced 148 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, and took design cues from the Subaru Impreza. This engine hooked up to a standard five-speed manual transmission that sent power to all four wheels. A continuously variable transmission is an option.
