Major changes included: The eighth generation Toyota Camry features a heavily redesigned interior that places more emphasis on in car navigation and entertainment, while the exterior also received a completely new design, making this version the largest, most feature-packed yet fuel-efficient Camry to date.

Major changes included: Now in its seventh generation, the Camry is still offered in its four traditional base, LE, SE, and XLE trim levels. A 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine is standard, with a 3.5 liter available in all but the base model. New in this generation is a gasoline-electric Hybrid model that utilizes the 2.4 liter engine in conjuction with an electric motor.

Major changes included: The sixth generation Camry is sleeker and even larger, featuring a longer wheelbase for a smoother, more comfortable ride. On the interior, the dashboard dash has been pulled away from the front seat translating into more legroom. A hybrid version is offered for the first time. The top-of-the-line XLE gets a wood-grain trim, as well reclining rear-passenger seats.

Major changes included: Bigger than ever, with more passenger/cargo room and upscale styling cues. Base CE trim is dropped, and an all-new 4-cylinder engine is offered.

Major changes included: Sharper body lines and a longer wheelbase designate this generation. More safety features are available. Wagon and coupe are dropped from the lineup in 1997, but coupe returns in 1999 as the Camry Solara.
